Iraqi war veteran was killed buying an iPad through Craigslist by the sellers, brothers in Indianapolis. The iPad was intended to be a Christmas gift for a parent in his family. The murderers were only 18 and 19 years old on the west side of Indianapolis. Sadly, the deceased, James Vester, just 32 years old, was a father of one year old baby boy. He served in the Indiana National Guard as well as being deployed to the Iraqi war zone. James Vester's fellow National Guard members all know he was a dedicated Soldier for 12 years and proud father. To help his family they have started a fundraiser, donations can be given at www.YouCaring.com. Sergeant Major Williams, Tony, said, "He had a huge heart and he was the type of person you could depend on." R.I.P. The two brothers, Tyshaune Kincade (18) and Tyron Kincade (19) are being held without bond in the Marion County Jail. On Monday they were charged with robbery and murder for shooting James Vester to death on Wednesday in a parking lot located in the west side of Indianapolis.
Obama made comments today about the effects of the shutdown in the government. Here they are: -If you are already on Social Security then your checks will keep on coming, but if you haven't applied yet then you should wait until the shutdown is over -Citizens who are enrolled in Medicare can continue visiting their doctors without delay -Mail will continue to be sent by the US postal service, and anything related to the safety of the American people will carry on as usual. -The American military will continue to do as they always do, and protect the American people from harm. -People in positions such as guarding prisons or the borders will still work as usual, but their checks won't be given to them until the government opens up shop again. -NASA won't be functioning during this time, but any men currently deployed in space will still be given support by Mission Control. -Most offices will not be open. -Salaries won't be paid until the offices reopen. -Important services for the elderly, women, kids, veterans, and our business system will be delayed -Owners of shops and businesses wouldn't be able to receive loans and permits in a timely manner. -Our men who served in the military and gave it all for our country wouldn't be able to receive the support that they need. -Anyone visiting any of the national parks or monuments would find them unmanned and closed. -Anyone that has a business in those areas where national parks and monuments are would of course see a drastic decrease in their income.
There's a reason why they're called the Greatest Generation! A group of veterans visiting Washington, DC during the government shutdown didn't very much like the fact that police were blocking them from seeing the WWII Memorial. Instead of listening they just marched past the police officers on the scene and enjoyed their visit. The government shut down closed down all the other memorials, but this couldn't keep out the ninety one veterans who came from the South to see their memorial. Reporters said that the veterans took over the memorial and the police couldn't really do anything to stop them in this non-violent protest. There were even tweets from a news agency about how the vets had knocked down the barriers and entered the memorial. The Honor Flight Network was responsible for bringing the veterans to the National Mall, as they bring vets from all over the country. But of course it wasn't just the vets that were sad when they found out that the National Mall was closed. A forty-four year old woman from Iowa was also interviewed about the memorials being closed, and she was as confused about it as the veterans were. Think of all the tourists which fly thousands of miles and line up at these memorials every single day. That must really suck.
A little boy named Sebastian De la Cruz wearing a charro outfit was attacked discriminatingly on the social networking sites especially on Twitter. Social masses questioned him after he sang The Star Spangled Banner. The critics were upset that a Latino boy should not sing that patriotic song. At his young age, the boy paid no attention to the negative comments and said that his parents taught him not to judge the book by its cover. He also added that his father works for the US Navy and he was born and raised in San Antonio and he is not a Mexican. He is also an avid and official fan of San Antonio Spurs. These Twitter bashers did not succeed in bullying this child, but instead the boy was again invited to perform in the next game and had received a round of applause. Where do you stand?
A desperate U.S. Army veteran and a plumber without work identified as Shawn Timothy Nelson who took an M60A3 tank for a ride from the US National Guard Armory in San Diego, California was taken out of this world by police :). With the Patton tank he ran amok and destroyed street signs, recreational vehicle and really anything that came to his way which finally led to his killing by the authorities. Check it out.
The riot police chase after veterans who are trying to free the memorials from being blocked in front of the White House. This is a big difference from the recent rally on immigration that happened on the National Mall where there were very few problems with police. "You have the lawful obligation to closely examine the legitimacy of all orders that you get," said a poster on the White House fence. "You will be held accountable for your actions by the law, your fellow man, and by God for everything you do". What do you think?
There was an unexpected surprise for the National Air and Space Museum visitors as the United States Air Force Band trickled in to perform selected pieces from Johann Sebastian Bach's portfolio. This was the initial from the twenty nine planned flashmobs by the USAF choir and band.
On Thursday, North Korean government sent a message to South Korea indicating that they will attack the neighboring country to express objection on the private command this week in Seoul. The message warned that North Korea will strike if the inhabitants of Seoul continue to insult North Korean highest dignity. There are 28,500 American soldiers deployed in South Korea. The militants and activists burned flag and effigies of the country's leaders during the second death anniversary of former North Korean Leader, Kim Jong Il earlier this week. These protests are common throughout the festivals and anniversaries in North Korea. Kim Min-seok, the spokesman for South Korea's Ministry of National Defense sent a reply through wired message and in the fax message he said "we warned that if North Korea is to carry out provocation, we will firmly retaliate." He added that there have been no substantial military movements in North Korea. The death of Jang Song Thaek this month, who was the powerful uncle and advisor of North Korea's present leader, Kim Jong Un upset North Koreans, bringing rumors on the instability of their government. Leave a comment.
There are not many details available about this amazing artwork, however, we know for sure that the artist is the man. You are looking at an American flag made fully out of 44 thousand plastic army soldiers. Talking about national pride and some good ol' American devotion. Do you like it?
The U.S. Government Shutdown has now started despite the Senate disapproval of the latest House petition to suspend Obamacare. The White House budget office has already ordered federal agencies to shut down. The following are the statements and comments of President Obama regarding the effects of government shutdown: - If you collect your Social Security, you will still receive it, but if not you will need to wait to apply for Social Security. - Those that have Medicare, can still see or consult their physician. - Delivery of mails will still be normal, government offices for national security or public safety will still be functioning - Our military men will carry their pledge to protect and serve the country with skill, honor and courage. - The salaries of prison guards and those who work on national securities will be late until the government resumes but they will stay on their duty. - NASA will be closed almost completely. Only the Mission Control will stay open to assist and guide the personnel working in the space station projects. - Office buildings will be closed. - Remunerations will be deferred. - Important services that pensioners and veterans, women and children, businesses and our economy depend on will be constrained. - Entrepreneurs will experience deferments in raising funds, seeking for infrastructure permits or rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy. - Support centers for veterans will not be operational. - Our National parks and monuments, from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty will be locked and shut. - Lastly, livelihood programs for communities and small business will not be available.
Representative Randy Neugebauer, a Texas lawmaker interrogated the park warden of the National World War II Memorial for setting barriers and hindering veterans to enter the said National Park. He said that National Park Service ought to provide an apology to the public from restraining the veterans of the war to visit the said place. He added that he cannot understand the notion of barring the Memorial and preventing the veterans from entering the place. He asked the warden firmly why the veterans are treated that way and the warden answered that it is difficult situation and she apologized for any inconvenience. Rep. Neugebauer joined a large group of legislators and concerned citizens that were protesting at the memorial after the news on Tuesday that the site has been locked up as a result of shutdown. Is this a mockery? What do you think?
"The Star Spangled Banner" was awaited on by crowds at Fenway Park, Boston, as the National Anthem is always expected to be sung at American baseball games. But on this night, James Taylor opened his vocal chords and blurted out "America the Beautiful". Though he is not the first or last celebrity to err in this platform, his excuse was well taken as he was scheduled to sing there later that night during the seventh inning stretch.
The Boot Monument in Saratoga National Historical Park in New York is an American Revolutionary War Memorial. This commemorative landmark was put up in honor of the services of an unnamed Major General in the Continental Army during the Battle of Saratoga. Although this memorial does not honor anyone in particular, many of those who are familiar with American history know that the officer given the honor is Benedict Arnold. He was an American general during the American Revolutionary War who eventually defected to the British Army. The reason why Benedict Arnold's name is not openly mentioned is that he has become infamous as a traitor to the American people. In the Battle of Saratoga, the Continental Army won over the British Army and his great contribution to this battle won him the admiration of the people who erected the monument in his honor. During the battle Arnold got wounded in the leg near the site where the monument can now be found. The Battle of Saratoga was his last battle. It ended his career. After his treachery became known to everyone, Arnold became the subject of spite. Benjamin Franklin wrote this about Arnold: "Judas sold only one man, Arnold millions." What do you think about this traitor?

Flappy What?? Well, Tank Of Course.

I've seen many of the FlappyBird clones out there, but this one must be the closest to my heart. One might think that a flying tank is absurd, but it actually is not. I don't know about you, but I love tank games. I devour them without any sleep for days and this game was not an exception to my gaming addiction. See for yourself. The guy is a bit hard to understand, but gives a good overview of the Like My Tank game. It looks a bit angry birdish, but at least it makes it easier to get started for me. What do you think?...

With the crises in Ukraine, it was just matter of time before something like this came out ;). VladiBird is a classic replica of the FlappyBird game which took on the world in a sweeping phenomenon.
